Register An Occupancy Sensor

Register your occupancy sensors to the Yeastar Workplace, so that the devices can interact with the system.

Tip

All the devices are registered to the system via the device Serial Number. Collect the devices’ SN before you start the registration.

Prerequisites

Supported model: Milesight WS202

  • Yeastar Workplace plan: Pro Plan.
  • At least one of your LoRaWAN gateways is registered to Yeastar Workplace. For more information see register a LoRaWAN gateway.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Yeastar Workplace management portal, go to Device Management > Device List.

  2. Click Add, and configure the following information in the pop-up window.pic

    • SN: Enter the Serial Number (SN) of this device.
      If the SN is correct, the system automatically detects the device type.
    • Device Name: Specify a name to help you identify this device.
    • Associated Gateway: Select the gateway that is installed on the same floor as the device.
    • Location: Select the desk resource to be associated with this Desk Occupancy Sensor.
  3. Click OK.

  4. Pull out the battery insulating sheet to power on the device.

    Help: The sensor was already powered on, how to make it take effect?
    • Reboot the sensor by a mobile App.

      1. Download and install “Milesight ToolBox” App from Google Play or App Store.
      2. Enable NFC on your mobile phone and open Milesight ToolBox.
      3. Attach your phone with NFC area to the device.
      4. Go to Device > Maintenance, tap Reboot.
    • Waiting for the sensor to rejoin the LoRaWAN network, which takes up to 30 minutes. At that time, the sensor will be registered to Yeastar Workplace automatically.

    The status on the web page indicates that the device is registered to Yeastar Workplace.

FAQ

Q: Why does the device status show {width=20px?

The status indicates the device failed to register to Yeastar Workplace, this can be fixed in one of the :

1.Download and install “Milesight ToolBox” App from Google Play or App Store. 2. Enable NFC on your mobile phone and open Milesight ToolBox. 3. Attach your phone with NFC area to the device. 4. Go to Device > Maintenance, tap Reboot.
