Email Server Overview

This topic provides an overview of email servers.

Email server

The email server is a software program that sends and receives email.

By setting up the email server, administrators can specify the enterprise mailbox as the default sender address. All emails sent through Yeastar Workplace will show this mailbox as the sender, thus matching the brand image of the enterprise.

Email server usage

The email server is used to send the following notification emails:

• System notifications
• Low power notifications for smart devices
• Notifications about meeting room reservations
• Notifications about desk reservations
• Notifications about visit schedules

Set up an email server

Yeastar Workplace provides a default email server and also supports setting up a custom email server.

Set up the default server

When using the default email server, all emails sent by Yeastar Workplace will show noreply@workplace.yeastar.com as the sender.

Set up the custom server

When using a custom email server, all emails sent by Yeastar Workplace will show the email address you set as the sender.
