Yeastar Workplace Infrastructure Overview

Before you start to deploy and install devices for your workplace, you can look at how Yeastar Workplace solution works. Below is a figure that highlights each component in the Yeastar Workplace solution.

Yeastar Workplace Infrastructure

Yeastar Workplace server

Yeastar Workplace Brief Overview

Yeastar Workplace server is deployed by Yeastar in the cloud. The server is ready to use in minutes from sign up. Yeastar Workplace server acts as a central hub that links all the following things together via the internet.

  • Web portal
  • Room display
  • LoRaWAN gateway

Smart sensors are connected to the gateway via LoRaWAN network.

  • Booking system

Room Display

Room Display

With touch-screen displays mounted outside meeting rooms, you can instantly tell whether a room is available by tri-colored LED lights even from a distance.

In case of an impromptu team huddle, just tap the screen to book or check in/out a meeting.

The upcoming room schedule and available timeslots are all clearly displayed on the screen.

Click on a status to change the LED light:

Smart sensors & LoRaWAN gateway

gateway and sensors

To further optimize room utilization, combining smart sensors with the room booking system is an ideal way. With real-time occupancy and people counting data detected by smart sensors, you can see how your room space is being used. Moreover, you can better analyze the utilization of your meeting room resources by this data.

This solution is achieved by two parts.

  • Detection part - Sensors

Install a human detection sensor in each meeting room to detect the presence of human body. The sensors act as LoRaWAN end nodes, which use LoRaWAN as wireless communication to send the data.

Yeastar Workplace supports two sensors for different usages:

People counting sensor Room comfort sensor
    Model Milesight VS121 Milesight AM307
Usage Detect if the meeting room is occupied and count how many people are in the room. A compact indoor environmental monitoring sensor for measurement of temperature, humidity, light, CO2 concentration, TVOC.
  • Monitoring part - Gateways

This part is implemented by a LoRaWAN gateway. A LoRaWAN gateway is a bridge that connects sensors to the internet. The gateway receives sensor data via LoRaWAN technology, and redirects and sends the data to Yeastar Workplace Server via the internet.

    LoRaWAN gateway model: Milesight UG65

Web portal

Users can access Yeastar Workplace by web browser. It is used to book meeting rooms and manage your bookings.

If you are an administrator, you will use the web portal to set up your workplace and manage all the meeting room resources.

Booking system

A booking system is what you are currently using for managing the reservation of your meeting rooms. Yeastar Workplace can be integrated with the most used calenders such as Outlook, Teams, and Google canlendar.

By using your existing booking system and sync it with Yeastar Workplace, your life will become easier.
