Meeting Room Resource Overview

Meeting room resources represent the physical meeting rooms in your workplace. After adding meeting room resources to the system, users can check the meeting room availability, make and manage meeting room reservations on Yeastar Workplace web portal.

This topic introduces the types of meeting room resources you can create on Yeastar Workplace.

Meeting room resource types

Yeastar Workplace supports three types of meeting room resources.

Regular Meeting Room

Regular Meeting Rooms can be booked by any user with booking permission, through Yeastar Workplace web portal and the associated Room Displays.

Request-only Room

Request-only Rooms can be booked by any user with booking permission on Yeastar Workplace web portal only. When users try to book a Request-only Room, they need to submit a reservation request first, and only when the request is approved will the room be booked.

You can specify the approver(s) for each Request-only Room and which users can directly book Request-only Rooms without approval.

Dedicated Meeting Room

Dedicated Meeting Rooms are for specific use and can NOT be booked by any users on Yeastar Workplace web portal.

Adding methods

Yeastar Workplace supports two different methods to add room resources.

Add rooms on the room list

Adding rooms on the room list allows you to configure detailed room preferences, including booking rules and check-in/check-out settings. However, you can only add meeting room resources individually.

For more information, see the following topics:

Add rooms on the floor map

Adding rooms on the floor map only allows you to set the basic room settings, such as room type and booking permissions. However, you can add meeting room resources in bulk to save time and effort.

For more information, see Add and Mark Meeting Rooms on the Map.
