Assign More Extensions to a Provisioned IP Phone

If an IP phone has been previously provisioned and there are new phone users, you can assign more extensions to the provisioned phone.

Requirement

The firmware version of Yeastar P-Series Software Edition is 83.24.0.73 or later.

Prerequisites

  • Make sure that the provisioned phone has available SIP lines for assignment.
Note: You can check the phone's supported SIP lines via the phone webpage or directly on the device screen.
  • If the phone is deployed in a remote network and has been auto provisioned via RPS FQDN (Remote) or Provision Link - FQDN (Remote) method, make sure the extension to be assigned can perform remote SIP registration via FQDN. For detailed configurations, see Configure Network for Remote SIP Access by a Yeastar FQDN.

Result

The assigned extensions are automatically registered on the phone. You can check the registration status via the phone webpage or on the device screen.

The SIP lines registered with these extensions are associated with different physical line keys on the phone. You can press a line key to activate the target SIP line. The corresponding LED illuminates, and all calls are processed over this SIP line.
