Reassign an Extension to a Provisioned IP Phone/Gateway
If a phone is previously provisioned but the phone owner or gateway port has been changed, you can reassign an extension to the provisioned phone or gateway.
Reassign an extension to a provisioned IP Phone
- Procedure

- Log in to PBX web portal, go to , edit the desired phone.
- In the Assign Extension section, select the
desired extensions for desired SIP lines.Tip: If your desired extension is not listed in the drop-down list, it indicates that the devices registered to the extension has reached the limit. You can use either of the following methods to proceed.
- To release the previous phone or gateway, see Release an Extension from a Provisioned IP Phone/Gateway.
- To raise the phone registration limit, see Allow Multiple Registrations for One Extension Number.
- Click Save.
- Result

The extension is automatically registered on the phone, and configurations in the selected template are applied to the phone.

- Log in to PBX web portal, go to , edit the desired gateway.
- In the Assign Extension section, select a
desired extension for a desired port.Tip: If your desired extension is not listed in the drop-down list, it indicates that the devices registered to the extension has reached the limit. You can use either of the following methods to proceed.
- To release the previous phone or gateway, see Release an Extension from a Provisioned IP Phone/Gateway.
- To raise the phone registration limit, see Allow Multiple Registrations for One Extension Number.
- Click Save.
The PBX generates a configuration file for gateway, and prompts you whether to reboot the gateway.
- Click OK to reboot the gateway to apply the configurations.
- Result
- The extension is automatically registered on the gateway port after reboot.
