Perform Call Transfer Using Feature Code

This topic describes how to perform call transfer by dialing a feature code.

Note:
  • To perform call transfer from SIP phone, refer to the instructions from phone manufacturer.

Prerequisites

You have enabled and configured call transfer feature codes.

Perform an attended transfer

Attended Transfer allows users to confirm the availability of the transfer recipient or provide information before completing the transfer.

To perform an attended transfer, do as follows:

  1. During a call, dial the attended transfer feature code (default: *3).

The original call is placed on hold, and the system prompts "transfer" and the dial tone.

  2. Dial the phone number of the transfer recipient, then press # key.
  3. Wait for the call to be answered.

When the call is answered, talk to the transfer recipient.

  4. Hang up the call to complete the transfer.

The original caller is then connected to the transfer recipient.

Perform a blind transfer

A blind transfer is used when no consultation with the transfer recipient is required.

To perform a blind transfer, do as follows:

  1. During a call, dial the blind transfer feature code (default *03).

The original call is placed on hold, and the system prompts "transfer" and the dial tone.

  2. Dial the phone number of the transfer recipient, then press # key.

The call is transferred immediately and the transfer recipient's phone will ring.

Once the transfer recipient answers, the call is established between the original caller and the transfer recipient.
