Inbound Route Overview

Inbound Route routes incoming calls to your tenant to specific destinations based on pre-configured rules, enabling communication between your tenant and external callers.

Inbound route types

NovoOne supports the following types of inbound call routing:

DID-based call routing

DID-based call routing routes inbound calls to a destination based on the DID number dialed by the caller. A call is routed through the inbound route only when the dialed DID number matches the configured DID criteria.

Caller-ID-based call routing

Caller ID-based call routing routes inbound calls to a destination based on the caller's phone number. A call is routed through the inbound route only when the Caller ID matches the configured Caller ID number or pattern.

Time-based call routing

Time-based call routing routes inbound calls to different destinations based on your business hours and holiday schedule.

Inbound route setup

You can create multiple inbound routes to define how incoming calls are handled. For each route, you can specify the trunk(s) through which calls are received, configure matching criteria, and select the destination for matched calls.

Inbound route priority

When multiple inbound routes are configured for the same trunk, the system checks the routes from the top of the list downward, comparing the inbound call with the matching criteria configured for each route until a match is found.

  • If the incoming call matches the criteria of an inbound route, the system routes the call to the destination configured for that route.
  • If the incoming call does not match the criteria, the system checks the next inbound route in priority order.

You can adjust the priority of inbound routes by changing their order in the list.
