Remote Management Overview

As a robust centralized platform, Yeastar Central Management allows you to connect Yeastar P-Series Appliance Edition / Software Edition to the platform for remote monitoring, management, and provisioning, giving you the power to quickly and securely take control of the devices without having to travel to the site.

Requirements

  • The self-hosted remote management service has been deployed on your Yeastar Central Management.
    Note: Deployment of the self-hosted server MUST be carried out with assistance from Yeastar. For more details, contact Yeastar Support.
  • The firmware of Yeastar Central Management is 87.15.0.83 or later.
  • Subscribe to RM Premium (Self-hosted) service.

Supported devices

Only the following PBX systems can be added and remotely connected to Yeastar Central Management.

Device connection method

The remote on-premises devices can be connected to Yeastar Central Management via the following methods.

Method Scenario & Instruction
Email

Scenario: You are responsible for routine maintenance of end users' PBX systems.

Instruction: Fill in your Yeastar Central Management account credential (Email and password) on PBX management portal.

Authentication Code

Scenario: End users have in-house IT staffs for routine maintenance of their PBX systems.

Instruction:

  1. Generate an authentication code on Yeastar Central Management.
  2. Contact the IT staff to fill in the authentication code on PBX management portal.

Device status

After you connect remote devices to Yeastar Central Management, you can view their status at a glance. The following table describes different statuses of the remotely connected devices.

Icon Description
Online: The device is successfully connected to Yeastar Central Management.
Offline: The device is NOT connected to Yeastar Central Management.
Abnormal: The device is connected to Yeastar Central Management, but specific alarms happen.
Tip: Click to check the alarm. If the alarm is read, connection status will be switched to .
Active: The device is one of the Hot Standby pair, and is now running the PBX system.
Standby: The device is one of the Hot Standby pair, and is now in standby state.
Provisioning: The device is being provisioned.
Upgrading: The device is being upgraded.
Restoring: The device is being restored.

Device monitor and management

After you connect remote devices to Yeastar Central Management, you can efficiently monitor and manage these devices. The supported operations are listed below.

Operation Description
Remote Access

You can securely access the remote devices via web or SSH through Yeastar Central Management.

Remote Monitoring You can easily monitor the system resource of the remotely connected P-Series Appliance Edition and P-Series Software Edition, which helps you to identify performance issues timely and prevent system failures.

Note: For the P-Series PBX systems remotely connected to Yeastar Central Management by your subordinate users (hosting users and resellers), you can also intuitively check the device online status and detailed system resources from the platform.

Remote Management You can manage the remotely connected P-Series Appliance Edition and P-Series Software Edition as needed, including the followings:
