Homer Overview

Yeastar Central Management supports integration with a dedicated Homer server for real-time collection and monitoring of P-Series Cloud PBX communication data (including SIP signaling and media quality metrics). Through Homer's intuitive interface and comprehensive data, you can perform in-depth diagnosis of various SIP communication issues, enabling rapid troubleshooting while ensuring the quality and stability of your communication service.

Requirements

  • The firmware of Yeastar Central Management is 87.17.0.22 or later.
  • The firmware of P-Series Cloud PBX is 84.20.0.128 or later.
  • The Homer server is deployed within the same network as your Yeastar Central Management.
Note: The Homer server should be deployed with assistance from Yeastar. For more details, contact Yeastar Support.

Homer deployment and monitoring workflow

Yeastar Central Management supports integration with your self-hosted Homer server to enable comprehensive PBX communication monitoring. Follow this workflow to complete all steps from deployment to ongoing monitoring:
  1. Prepare and deploy Homer in your environment

Before you begin, prepare your server environment according to the specified requirements and contact Yeastar to complete the Homer deployment.

For more information, see Prepare Environment for Homer Deployment.

  2. Connect Homer to Yeastar Central Management

After successful deployment, enable Homer monitoring in your Yeastar Central Management system. Once configured, SBC Server, SBC Proxy Server, and PBXHub Server will stream SIP signaling data and RTCP quality metrics from P-Series Cloud PBX communications to your Homer server in real time using the Homer Encapsulation Protocol (HEP).

For more information, see Enable Homer Monitoring.

  3. Monitor SIP Traffic with Homer

When PBX call anomalies occur (such as one-way audio, registration failures, or call drops), use Homer's intuitive web interface to troubleshoot. The web interface allows you to quickly retrieve specific communication sessions, trace complete interaction processes from initiation to termination, and analyze raw messages at each stage, helping you rapidly identify root causes without external support.

For more information, see View and Analyze SIP Traffic with Homer.

Homer data storage

All captured monitoring data is stored directly on the Homer server. By default, Homer automatically deletes the oldest data when storage usage reaches 80%.

You can also set up automatic data cleanup rules for Homer in the Yeastar Central Management platform, including storage usage thresholds and data retention periods. These configurations are automatically synchronized to the Homer server, which will perform data cleanup according to the specified rules, enabling centralized storage management. For more information, see Set up Auto Cleanup for Homer.
