Add an Emergency Notification Contact

When a user dials an emergency number, NovoOne can notify contacts by email or phone call, helping ensure they are informed of the emergency call in time. You can add internal users or external contacts to receive emergency notifications.

Add an internal user as emergency notification contact

  1. Log in to NovoOne Tenant portal, go to Call Control > Emergency Number.
  2. In the Notification Contact tab, click Add.
  3. In the pop-up window, configure notification contact and notification method.

    1. In the Notification Contacts section, select Specific User, then select one or more users from the Specific User drop-down list.
    2. In the Notification Methods section, select one or more notification methods.
      Method Description
      Send Email Send a notification email to the user's mailbox.

      If selected, ensure that the user's email address is configured (Path: Users > Users > General > Email).

      Call User Send a notification call to the user's extension number.
      Note: When the user answers the notification call, the system plays the prompt "Extension {extension_number} dialed emergency number {emergency_number}", then hangs up the call. You can configure a custom prompt and specify the number of times the prompt is played. For more information, see Configure Custom Prompt for Emergency Notification.
    3. Click Save.

Add an external user as emergency notification contact

  1. Log in to NovoOne Tenant portal, go to Call Control > Emergency Number.
  2. In the Notification Contact tab, click Add.
  3. In the pop-up window, configure notification contact and notification method.

    1. In the Notification Contacts section, select Custom, then enter contact name in the Contact Name field.
    2. In the Notification Methods section, select the notification method.
      Method Description
      Send Email Send a notification email to the contact's mailbox.

      If selected, enter the contact's email address in the text field.

    3. Click Save.
