Call Forwarding

Call forwarding rules allow you to forward incoming calls to a specific destination when you are unavailable.

Setting Description
Types of incoming calls

Select the type of incoming calls to which the forwarding rule applies.

  • Internal Calls: Incoming calls from your colleagues will be forwarded under specified condition(s).
  • External Calls: Incoming calls from external contacts will be forwarded under specified condition(s).
Forward setting Turn on the switch of a forwarding condition, then configure a destination accordingly.
  • Forward Condition:
Note: The Do Not Disturb presence supports only the Always condition.
    • Always: Forward all incoming calls to the designated destination.
    • No Answer: Only forward unanswered calls to the designated destination.
    • When Busy: Only forward the calls that come in while you are on another call to the designated destination.
  • Forward Destination:
    • Hang up
    • Another user
    • Your own voicemail
    • Mobile number
    • External number
    • IVR
    • Ring group
    • Queue
    • Play prompt then hang up

Ring Strategy

Ring strategy allows you to decide in which order incoming calls are distributed to the endpoints where your extension is registered.
Note:
  • Do Not Disturb presence does not support this setting.
  • When a call comes in from a Ring Group or Queue that your extension belongs to, all your registered endpoints will ring simultaneously. The ring strategy settings configured here will be ignored for such calls.

The following endpoints are available for your extension:

  • User Endpoints (The IP phone or softphone where your extension is registered)
  • NovoOne Mobile Client
  • NovoOne Web Client
Setting Description
Ring First Select the endpoint(s) that will ring first when a call reaches your extension.
Ring Secondly Select the endpoint(s) that will ring if the incoming call is not answered on the endpoints selected under Ring First.

Ring Timeout

To prevent callers from waiting for a long time, you can configure ring timeout. If a call is not answered on any endpoint within the timeout period, it will be routed to the destination configured for No Answer.
Note: Do Not Disturb presence does not support this setting.
Setting Description
Ring Timeout(s) Set how long each endpoint will ring before timeout.
Note: The valid range is from 10 to 300 seconds.
