Step3. Create an External IP Address

A static external IP address is an external IP address that is reserved for your project until you decide to release it. Create an external IP on Google Cloud, then assign the IP to SBC instance, so that the SBC can can communicate with the Internet.

  1. Go to the Reserve a static address page in the GCP Console.
  2. Set a name for the new address.
  3. Specify whether this is an IPv4 or IPv6 address. IPv6 addresses can only be global and can only be used with global HTTP(S), SSL proxy, and TCP proxy load balancers.
  4. Set the Type as Regional.
  5. Set the Region as same region of your VPC network.
  6. Click Reserve.
