Create and Attach an Internet Gateway to the VPC

To ensure that your VPC can communicate with the Internet, you must attach an Internet gateway to your VPC.

Background information

An Internet gateway works as a virtual route to enable direct connectivity between your VPC and the Internet.

The following diagram shows the architecture of your VPC after you complete this step.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Amazon VPC Console.
  2. On the left navigation bar, click Internet Gateways, then click Create internet gateway.

  3. In Name tag field, enter a name to help you identify the Internet gateway. In this example, enter ycm-cloudpbx-igw.

  4. Click Create internet gateway.

  5. On the detail page of the new created Internet gateway, click Actions > Attach to VPC.

  6. In the drop-down list of Available VPCs, select the VPC that you've created for Cloud PBX, and click Attach internet gateway.

    The State of the Internet gateway is displayed as Attached.
