Check the Status of People Counting Sensor

After People Counting Sensors are powered on, the devices are activated and connected to Yeastar Workplace automatically. This topic describes how to check the status of People Counting Sensor, and introduces the features that People Counting Sensors can achieve.

Prerequisites

  • You have registered People Counting Sensors to Yeastar Workplace.
  • You have installed the People Counting Sensors.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Yeastar Workplace management portal, go to Device Management > Device List.
  2. Under the Status column, view the device status.
    If the device status shows , indicating that the People Counting Sensor is connected to Yeastar Workplace.

    Best Practice

    Use the status filter to check for abnormal device connections and fix the abnormal connections accordingly.

Result

After the People Counting Sensor is connected to Yeastar Workplace, the following features are achieved:

  • The People Counting Sensor automatically detects the room occupancy (detects the accurate headcount) and synchronizes the real-time data to Yeastar Workplace web portal and the Room Display.

  • If the People Counting Sensor detects an in-use room is empty for fifteen minutes, the system will automatically release this meeting room.

    Note

    • When it reaches 5 minutes before the room is automatically released. A notification will be sent to the meeting organizer, through which the meeting organizer can decide whether to keep or release this meeting room.

Q: What to do when the status shows ?

The status indicates the device is NOT activated. Refer to the following corrective actions to fix this issue:

  • Ensure the device is powered on.
  • Ensure the sensor's associated gateway can access the Internet.

  • Reboot the device by powering it off and on.
