How to make Linkus work in an external network?

For Yeastar S-Series VoIP PBX, if LCS (Linkus Cloud Service) is not enabled, the PBX administrator needs to configure Linkus server according to the network environment.

If the configurations of Linkus server are incorrect, you cannot log in Linkus when you are out of office.

PBX is behind a router

If the PBX is behind a router and the Linkus communicates with the PBX through the network interface that is configured with a private IP, you need to do port forwarding and configure NAT on your PBX.

  1. Forward ports on the router that is connected to the PBX.
    Port Default Value
    Linkus Local Port UDP 8111

    TCP 8111

    SIP Port UDP 5060
    RTP Ports UDP 10000-12000
  2. Log in the PBX web interface, go to Settings > PBX > General > SIP > NAT, configure NAT settings.

    • NAT Type: Select a type according to your network environment.
    • External IP Address: Enter the public IP address or the domain name of the router; Enter the external port of SIP port.
    • Local Network Identification: Enter the local IP segment and subnet mask of the PBX.
    • NAT Mode: Select Yes.
  3. Go to Linkus, click Server Settings to configure the Linkus server.

    • Local Hostname/IP: Enter the local IP address of the PBX.
    • Linkus Local Port: Local port of the Linkus server.
    • External Hostname/IP: Enter the public IP address or domain name of the router.
    • Linkus External Port: External port of the Linkus server that you forwarded on the router.
    • SIP Remote Registration Port: External port of SIP port that you forwarded on the router.
    • Linkus Login Mode: Select the login mode for Linkus clients.
  4. On the Linkus client, enter the Linkus server settings.

PBX is connected to a public IP address

If the PBX is connected to a carrier's router and the Linkus communicates with the PBX through the network interface that is configured with a public IP, you do NOT need to do port forwarding and configure NAT on your PBX.

  1. Configure the Linkus server settings as below.

    • Local Hostname/IP: Enter the IP address of the router.
    • Linkus Local Port: Local port of the Linkus server.
    • Linkus Login Mode: Select the login mode for Linkus clients.
  2. On the Linkus client, enter the Linkus server settings.

PBX is connected to a VPN network

You do NOT need to do port forwarding on your router. Configure the Linkus server settings as below.

Note: Your mobile phone or your PC should in the same VPN network of the PBX.

    • Local Hostname/IP: Enter the VPN address of the PBX.
